بِالنَعلِ فيهِ هامَةٌ وَأَخادِعُ

Love was not forged for a lover

Whose shoes contained pretense and deception

لا تَحسبَن يا مُرُّ أَنَّكَ أَوَّلٌ

في صَفعِهِ ما أَنتَ إلّا رابِعُ

Do not think, passerby, that you are the first
