وَقائِلٍ إِنَّ في الأَسفارِ فائِدَةً

يوسِعنَ في الرِزقِ ذا مالٍ وَذا خُلقِ

One said that in travel there is benefit,

It expands provision for one with wealth and character.

وَقَد مَضَيتُ إِلى أَقصى الَّذي ذَكَروا

وَجِئتُ أَرعَنَ وَالشَلّاقُ في عُنُقي

Yet I went to the furthest that they mentioned

And returned confused, with nothing to show for my journey.
