The charmer of glances, beautiful and bright,
Sweetly curved, perfect in grace and might,
He walked as a like one walked with him,
In form and mien and years the same.
I said “Tell me your name”, for you have cast
Your spell on me. He said “Turn away”.
You seek but my name, and hide with it,
What you desire of me, now astray.
I hid it from you, but it appears
In what enticed you of my eyes’ shine.
I said “This then’s his name”. He said to me
“Part of what you have said will suffice.”
