Have my eyes slept long for the caravan
Making their meadows suffice from summer and spring?
Wandering is the question of one with no answer
And foolishness is the prayer of one unhearing.
If the lover had seen me the day they departed
He would have wept for me at the moment of farewell,
Tears that bewilder the valleys,
And sighs too great for my ribs.
