Your hands are eyes that yearn with eyes

And your favor is a sun that is not repelled by hatred

Your bestowal is pure, unmixed with obligation

And praise of you is truth, flawless and free of blame

When the hands of people fall short of merit

You reach the highest with your hands outstretched

If the people of this age placed their affairs in your hands

They would find the way of both lifetimes

Generous, like clouds pouring rain, while the miser’s hand is stingy

Dignified, when the mountains of Hunayn bowed low

The envious pursued all his merits

But trying to find fault in him wearied them

I sent a unique pearl, and yearning had sighed

In my heart, and melancholy shrouded my breast

You endowed me with eternal essence of merit

While he made of clay and mud perishes

It was as if tears, when the weeping called them

Were engraved, leaving no trace, unheeded
