1. بِقَدِّكُما إِن شِئتُما فَتَطاعَنا

    بِكُلِّ رُدَينِيِّ القَوامِ مُثَقَّفِ

    With your statures, if you wish, we would obey

    With every supple spear, made elegant,

  2. وَإِن شِئتُما بِالنُبلِ أَن تَتَناضَلا

    فَدونَكُما بِالرشقِ مِن كُلِّ أَوطَفِ

    And if you wish with nobility to vie

    Before you in the east, all are lesser kin

  3. وَلا تُثقِلا خَصرَيكُما بِمُهَنَّدٍ

    فَفي كُلِّ جَفنٍ مِنكُما حَدُّ مُرهَفِ

    Do not weigh down your loins with sharpened swords

    For in each eyelid of yours, a sharpened edge exists
