ما لِلمُحِبِّ وَلِلعَواذِل

لَو أَنَّهُم شُغِلوا بِشاغِل

What concern of lovers and censurers

Had they busied themselves with other matters

ما أَنكَروا أَعَجيبَةٌ

أَن يُصبِحَ الهِندِيُّ قاتِل

They wouldn’t have denied how strange

That the Indian would become a killer
