لَو كُنتُ أَسوَدَ مِثلُ الفيلِ هامَتُهُ

عَبلَ الذِراعَينِ في غُرمولِهِ كِبَرُ

Were I a black elephant, towering and grand

With arms entwining as pillars, mighty and strong

كانَت حَوائِجُ مِثلي عِندَكُم قُضِيَت

لَكِنَّني أَبيَضٌ في أَيدِهِ قِصَرُ

My needs, like others, you'd hasten to meet

But alas, I'm but white, small hands I belong
