This is my heart, pierced by arrows,
This is my heart, harvested by arrows; who could behold those eyelids and remain unscathed?
Who can see those eyelids and stay sane?
O radiant brow, in whose favor Beauty ruled against the morning sun—and judged rightly in its decree,
O you whose beauty outshines
Her neck and glances mimic the young wild gazelles, though she stands far above the creature world,
The radiant dawn, rightly so it seems.
It is as if her stature and the melody of her voice were a bough upon which a nightingale sings,
Your graceful neck and glance, so they say,
The carefree soul becomes a lover when he sees her, for love is awakened by languid, dreamy eyes.
Are beyond what scholars can convey.
Your stature and voice, it does seem,
Are like a branch where a nightingale sings.
When seen, even ascetics become enamored,
And sleepy eyes by your glance awaken.
