أخذْتَ عني بديلاً

وذا دليلٌ بأنكْ

You have taken another in my place,

and this is proof that you

تمرُّ بي لستَ تلوي

عليَّ حتى كأنكْ

pass me by without turning

toward me—so much so that it seems

فلستَ تُحسنُ هجري

ولستُ أهجرُ حسنَكْ

you are no good at forsaking me;

while I do not forsake your beauty.

وليسَ يوزَنُ وجدي

وليسَ يوجد وزنكْ

My passion cannot be weighed,

nor can your equal in weight be found.
