مواعظُ الدهرِ لأبنائِهِ

ما بينَ مفهومٍ ومنطوقِ

The advice of time to its sons

Between what is understood and what is said

كمْ طامعٍ مِنْ دهرِهِ بالصفا

والدهرُ لا يصفو لمخلوقِ

How many are greedy from their time for purity

Yet time is not pure for any creature
