I stole a glance from her, so she smiled
And hid from me, closing her window
So I stole a second glance
And she let down her veil before it
How can her ankles bear her anklets
When a gazer's glance wounds her ankles
O Hind I have a soul occupied with you
Its way to your love led by her ankles
He who compares you to Balqis says
A commander, forbidding her lovers
I found a woman who commands them
And was granted perfection in all her qualities
If the leaf knew her cheek's beauty
It would shred itself in rapture
If my critic tasted her saliva
He would stop blaming me and taste it
