يا مَنْ سبى شمسَ الضحى

بالنورِ ما قلبي حديدْ

O you who has captivated the sun of dawn

With light though my heart be iron

أنا خالدٌ في لوعةٍ

وجوى يشيبُ لهُ الوليدْ

I am forever in torment

While the child grows old from yearning
