بسِّي منَ الشعرِ بسِّي

لا أرتضي بالأخسِّ

Enough of poetry, enough

I will not settle for the most trivial

أكونُ عفاً بريئاً

وما أبرِّئُ نفسي

I will be chaste and innocent

Yet I do not absolve myself
