يقولُ لي بوابُهُ إذْ رأى
بالبابِ منِّى وِقفةَ الحائِرِ
His doorkeeper said to me when he saw
Me standing confused at the door:
لهُ مخازيمُ بها شغلُهُ
قلتُ مخازيمُ بلا آخرِ
"He has affairs that occupy him."
I said: "Affairs without end!"
