لو كنتَ محتاجاً إلى درهمٍ

لكانَ بالمدَّاح لي أُسوَهْ

If you were in need of a single coin

I would take the flatterers as role models

وكانَ مَنْ لا يعطني أهجهُ

فالحمدُ للهِ على الثروهْ

And would shun those who do not give me

So praise be to God for wealth
