خلِّ بِكراً أو عجوزاً

فهما آفةُ مالكْ

Whether young or old

They are the ruin of your wealth

وإذا رمْتَ صلاحاً

فَعَوانٌ بينَ ذلكْ

But if you seek goodness

Moderation lies between them
