Claude 2

  1. باسمِ إلهِ الخلْقِ هذا ما اشترى

    محمدٌ بنُ يونسَ بن سُنْقُرا

    In the name of God, the Creator, this is what was bought

    By Muhammad son of Yunus son of Sunqura

  2. مِنْ مالكِ بنِ أحمدَ بنِ الأزرقِ

    كلاهُما قدْ عُرفا مِنْ جلِّق

    From Malik son of Ahmad son of Al-Azraq

    Both well known from Jilq

  3. فباعَهُ قطعةَ أرضٍ واقعهْ

    بكورةِ الغوطةِ وهْيَ جامعَهْ

    So he sold him a plot of land situated

    In Bawwabat Al-Ghouta, which has trees

  4. لشجرٍ مختلِفِ الأجناسِ

    والأرضُ في البيعِ معَ الغراسِ

    Of different kinds

    And the land with the trees was sold

  5. وذَرْعُ هذي الأرضِ بالذراعِ

    عشرونَ في الطولِ بلا نزاعِ

    The length of this plot by the cubit

    Is twenty cubits without dispute

  6. وذَرْعُها في العرضِ أيْضاً عَشَرَهْ

    وهْو ذِراعٌ باليدِ المعْتَبَرَهْ

    And its width is also ten cubits

    By the recognized cubit

  7. وحدُّها مِنْ قِبلةٍ مِلْكُ التقي

    وحائزُ الروميّ حدُّ المشرقِ

    It is bordered on one side by Al-Taqi’s land

    And the Roman’s land borders the east

  8. ومِنْ شمالٍ ملكُ أولادِ علي

    والغَرْبُ مِلْكُ عامرِ بنِ جَهْبَلِ

    The north is bordered by the land of Al-Ali’s sons

    And the west belongs to Amer son of Jahbal

  9. وهذهِ تُعرَفُ مِنْ قديمٍ

    بأنها قطعةُ بِنتِ الرومي

    And this plot is known from ancient times

    As the plot of the daughter of the Roman

  10. بيعاً صحيحاً لازماً شرعياً

    ثم شراءً قاطعاً مرعيَّا

    A valid and binding sale according to Sharia

    And an absolute purchase properly conducted

  11. بثمنٍ مبلغُهُ منْ فضهْ

    وازنةٍ جيدةٍ مُبَيَّضَهْ

    For a price of silver amounting to

    Two thousand weighed and pure dirhams

  12. جاريةٍ للناسِ في المعاملهْ

    ألفانِ منها النصفُ ألفٌ كاملهْ

    Current among people in transactions

    One thousand of it being complete

  13. قبضَها البائعُ منهُ وافيهْ

    فعادَتْ الذمةُ منها خاليهْ

    The seller received it in full

    So the debt was cleared

  14. وسلَّمَ الأرضَ إلى مَنْ اشترى

    فقبضَ القطعةَ منهُ وجَرَى

    And he handed over the land to the buyer

    Who took possession of the plot from him duly

  15. بينهما بالبدنِ التفرُّقُ

    طَوْعاً فما لأحدٍ تَعَلُّقُ

    With mutual consent they parted

    Willingly, neither having any remaining claim

  16. ثمَّ ضمانُ الدركِ المشهورِ

    فيهِ على بائعهِ المذكورِ

    Then responsibility for taxes well-known

    Regarding it falls on the seller aforementioned

  17. وأشهدا عليهما بذاكَ في

    رابعَ عَشرَ رمضانَ الأشرفِ

    And they both testified to this on

    The fourteenth of the noble month of Ramadan

  18. منْ عامِ سبعمائةٍ وعشرهْ

    منْ بعدِ خمسةٍ تليها الهجرَهْ

    Of the year seven hundred and ten

    After the Hijrah by five more years

  19. والحمدُ للهِ وصلَّى ربِّي

    على النبيِّ وآلِهِ والصَّحبِ

    And praise be to God and my Lord prayed

    Upon the Prophet, his family and companions

  20. يَشْهدُ بالمضمونِ مِنْ هذا عُمَرْ

    ابنُ المظفرِ المعري إذْ حَضَرْ

    Umar son of Al-Muzaffar Al-Maari witnessed

    The valid contents here when he attended

  21. قد حضرَ العقدَ الصحيحَ أحمدُ

    ابنُ رسولِ وبذاكَ يَشْهَدُ

    Ahmad son of Rasool attended the valid sale and witnessed it
