رامتْ وصالي فقلتُ لي شغلٌ

عَنْ كلِّ خودٍ تريدُ تلقاني

She aimed for my love, so I told her, "I'm busy

With more pressing matters than meeting with you."

قالتْ كأنَّ الخدودَ كاسدةٌ

قلتُ كثيراً لقلةِ القاني

She said, "As if my cheeks aren't worth your time."

I said, "It's not your worth, but mine that's too few."
