يا حاسدَ الناسِ على مالِهمْ

إليكَ عنّي يا مُعَنَّى إليكْ

O you who envy people for their wealth

From me to you, O critic, to you

فلو تساوى الناسُ في رزقهمْ

لم تعْطَ معشارَ الذي في يديكْ

If people were equal in their livelihood

You would not get a tenth of what's in your hand
