1. خشيتُ على حبيبِ القلبِ لمَّا

    أتى حمَّامَهُ ونَضا الثيابا

    I feared for my beloved when

    He entered his bath and stripped his clothes,

  2. فشمسُ وجههِ والجسمُ زبدٌ

    إذا طلعَتْ عليهِ الشمسُ ذابا

    For his face is the sun and his body foam -

    When the sun shines on foam it melts away.
