لمْ أجمعِ المالَ فَخْراً

ولا لحرصٍ وغَفْلَهْ

I did not amass wealth out of pride

Nor out of greed or neglect

لكنْ ليسترَ وجهي

عنِ الخضوعِ لسفلهْ

But to veil my face

From having to bow to the lowly
