تقويمُ قدِّكَ صحَّ يا مَنْ ثغرُهُ
درٌّ يقصِّرُ دونَهُ التقويمُ
Your smile is true, O one whose mouth
is pure pearls - the calendar falls short before it.
إني لأبكي مِنْ جفاكَ ولي أبٌ
والثغرُ يضحكُ منكَ وهُوَ يتيمُ
I weep from your disdain though I have a father,
