إذا ما النّفسُ مالَتْ نحْوَ حُسْنٍ

فقَدْ خطَرْتَ علَى خطَرِ الوَلوعِ

If the soul inclines towards beauty

You have embarked on a dangerous path

فإنْ أحْسَسْتَ بالمَيْلِ ادَّرِكْها

فَما بعْدَ الميْلِ سِوى الوُقوعِ

If you sense this inclination, rein it in

For after inclination comes only falling
