أَتَى ابْنُ سُليْمَانٍ وَفِي الْفِكْرِ فَتْرَةٌ
يُخَبِّرُ أَنَّ الْعَقْلَ جِدُّ مُغَيَّبِ
Ibn Sulayman came while thought was in a lull,
reporting that reason was a grandfather hidden from sight.
فَقُلْتُ أَظُنُّ السَّيِّدَ اعْتَمَّ عِمَّةً
وَلكِنَّهَا فِي الأَصْلِ مِنْ كُنْيَةِ الأَبِ
So I said, “I suppose the gentleman has wrapped his head in a paternal aunt”—
yet she originally comes from the father’s kunya.
