بَانَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي

حَسْبِي اللَّهُ أَيَّ مَوْقِفِ بَيْنِ

My solace appeared on Thursday

God is enough for me, what a situation between us

لَوْ جَنَى مَوْقِفُ النَّوَى حَينَ حَيٍّ

كَانَ يَوْمُ الْوَدَاعِ وَاللَّهِ حَيْنِي

If the stance of intimacy had taken place when alive

It would have been the day of farewell, by God, my time

ضَايَقَتْنِي صُرُوفُ هَذِي اللَّيَالِي

وَأَطَالَتْ هَمِّي وَألْوَتْ بِدَيْنِي

The turns of these nights have straitened me

And lengthened my worries and burdened me with debt

وَطَنٌ نَازِحٌ وَشَمْلٌ شَتِيتٌ

كَيْفَ يَبْقَى مُعَذَّبٌ بَعْدَ ذَيْنِ

A fleeing homeland and scattered family

How can one remain tortured after this

يَا إِلاَهِي أَدْرِكْ بِلُطْفِكَ ضَعْفِي

إِنَّ مَا أَشْتَكِيهِ لَيْسَ بِهَيْنِ

My God, reach my weakness with Your kindness

What I complain of is not trivial
