يَا إمَامَ الْهُدَى وَأيّ إمَامِ

أوْضَحَ الْحَقّ بَعْدَ إخْفَاء رَسْمِه

O Imam of guidance, what an Imam you are!

You have made truth clear after its traces were hidden.

أنتَ عَبْدُ الْحَليمِ حِلْمَكَ نَرْجُو

فَالمُسَمّى لَهُ نَصِيبُ مِنِ اسْمِهْ

You are the servant of the Forbearing; we hope for your forbearance.

The one who is named has a share of his namesake's qualities.
