نفَخَ المَثاني ثمّ سَوّى عودَهُ
وفْقاً بوَفْقٍ كاعْتِدالِ الأهْوِيَهْ
The flutist blew then straightened his reed
In a bending, like the balance of scales
فطَرِبْتُ والمَلْويُّ يَلْوي فارْتمَتْ
منّي الدّموعُ كمِثْلِ وادِي مَلْوِيَهْ
So I trembled, and the bending one bent
And from me tears streamed, like the valley of bending
لا تُنْكِروا منّي الحَنينَ فإنّما
برَتِ البَرايا نَفْخَةٌ معَ تسْوِيَهْ
Do not deny me longing, for
The deserts sprouted a breath with alignment
