أقولُ واللّيْلُ أعْياني تطاوُلُهُ

وأوسِعُ الذّمَّ والتّعْنيتَ أسْوَدَهُ

I say, and the night that is too long for me

And the blame and reproach is blackened

ما كان يجْرُؤ ليْلي أنْ يُطاوِلَني

شِعارُكُمْ يا بَني العَبّاسِ أيّدَهُ

My night wouldn't dare to be too long for me
