O companion, do not weep for the days of union that have passed

Joyfully, and homes, and homelands that left us.

Make it easy on yourself, for complaining is useless,

And every hardship, when you make it easy, becomes slight.

Look at the garden when the winds blow tempestuously,

How the flowers sway and become more beautiful.

The rain stripped the water of the clouds' covenant,

A naked sword from the flowing stream.

The bow strung the rainbow in its horizons,

Shooting, it clad rivers and meadows in mail.

The cloud unleashed a volley of arrows from its quivers

That bloodied the roses and nubians with its arrows.

Offer it radiant as the sun's rays,

As if rubies and topaz fill the cup.

Drink to the tune of the strings happily,

Reveal the secret of passion, do not conceal it.

Gallop to the joys of youth playfully,

When you find open ground for the steeds of joy.

Do not miss opportunities for pleasures, for we have

A generous Lord who forgives sins abundantly.

How can we fear an ordeal that befell us

One day when Joseph, after God, is our master?
