يَا مَنْ تَقَلَّدَ لِلْعَلاَءِ سُلُوكاً

وَالْفَضْلُ صَيَّرَ نَهْجَهُ مَسْلُوكَا

O you who has adopted the ways of the virtuous

And made excellence his walked path

كَاتبْتَنِي مُتَفَضِّلاً فَمَلَكْتني

لاَزِلْتُ مِنْكَ مُكَاتَباً مَمْلُوكَا

You wrote to me generously, so you owned me

I remain, to you, a correspondent slave
