1. ساوَرْتُ أسْوَدَ منْ ظَلامِ دُجىً

    مَنْ نابَهُ فإلى الهُمومِ دُفِعْ

    I rode through the blackness of darkest night

    Whose fangs push away all worries and plight

  2. أنا لا أقولُ سَطا الصّباحُ بِه

    لَكِنْ طَغى ثُعْبانُهُ فرُفِعْ

    I do not say the dawn has arisen with ease

    But that its serpent's veil has now been released
