قَالَ جَوَادِي عِنْدَمَا

هَمَزْتُ هَمْزَاً أَعْجَزَهْ

My faithful steed said when

I spurred him with all my might

إِلَى مَتَى تَهْمِزُنِي

وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةْ

"How long will you goad me so?

Woe to each sting and bite!"
