O you who draw a treasure of agate from the corners of my eyes,
I implore you for mercy while a breath of life remains.
My strength has grown too weak to bear my patience
for you, and my collars too tight to contain my sighs.
I go mad when darkness falls; I have
no healer but the gentle breeze of dawn.
At times I seek the help of an amulet in that darkness,
and the scribe at the corners of my eyes colors it with tears.
