1. تَشُحُّ بِوَصْلِها ذَاتُ الوِشاحِ

    عَلَى شادٍ بِها وَقْعُ الجِراحِ

    She adorns herself with the garment of union

    Yet it wounds the one enamored with her

  2. وَتَبْخَلُ مِنْ أزاهِر وَجْنَتَيْها

    بِشَمّ الوَرد أَو لَثْم الأقاحي

    She is stingy with the flowers of her gardens

    With their fragrant roses and sweet blossoms

  3. وَقَد مَلَكَتْ لَواحِظُها فُؤادِي

    فَبَرْحُ هَوَاي لَيْسَ إلَى بَرَاحِ

    She has captured my heart with her glances

    So my passion finds no relief or respite
