How the nights insist on betrayal

Do you not know the ruin of treasures or are you aware?

You wander in the sadness of separation, constantly

And you spread the evil of discord, secretly and openly

Her claws did not become embedded in the thicket of the forest

So one day she escaped, not even a young gazelle could flee

If only she and estrangement had an affectionate bond

We would have enjoyed the joy of union or the sorrow of separation

If only she was like the diver who learned aside from diving

The craft of spreading nets, he did not benefit from gentle coaxing or rely on harsh repulsion

She has certainly weakened me with a stab by which

She established afterwards the agony of my chest

The branch of blissful water bent it

With ample promises, pledges and burning embers

And the vast army handed her over to perdition

As if she was not more protective than the bright star

The sun and moon remind me of her whenever

I glance at the rising of the sun and the moon

She fell into the earth and it was her burial place

So my sorrow for what saddened love makes me find

At her appointed time, oh her day

Stop, but with elegies of poetry

And tears flowing like embers when people overflow with weeping at the slaughter

Do not blame me for neglecting

The rituals of my anguish and sacrificing patience

If my heart wanted to incline away

From the tomb between ribs to the gullet

Out of loyalty to a pact I do not break

Until the exposure of the dead at the place of resurrection

My yearning for events that circled

At the end of time in their depictions like sea shells that did not toss upon the beach shore

And my pilgrimage to them I made

That is indeed the pinnacle of an honorable life

Take another look at what led me to agony

And what brought me back on my Eid of Fitr and Eid of Sacrifice.
