لأنْدَلُسَ البُشْرَى وحَضْرَتِهَا حِمْص

فقَد كُسِيَتْ لِلأَمْنِ فَضْفاضَةُ القُمْصِ

Andalusia has brought glad tidings, and its civilization is Hims,

So its spacious shirt has been dressed for security,

وَقد نُصِرَتْ عَوْداً كَبَدْء على العِدَى

فَذَاقُوا المَنَايَا الحُمْر بِالحسِّ والحَصِّ

And it has been given support again, as in the beginning against enmity,

Thus they tasted the red deaths with loss and perdition,

وَلا غَرْوَ أنْ تُغْرَى السُّعُودُ بأهْلِها

فَمَا قابَلوا النُّعْمَى بِغَمْطٍ ولا غَمْصِ

And it is no wonder that authority is deluded by its people,

For they did not reciprocate blessing with ingratitude and impiety,

أَلَمْ يَخْلَعوا زُهْداً وحِرْصاً عَلَى الهُدَى

ومِن عَجَبٍ أنْ يُعْضَدَ الزُّهْدُ بالْحِرْصِ

Did they not renounce abstinence and greed for guidance,

And it is strange that abstinence is supported by greed,

عَلِيَّ بْنَ إدْريسَ بْنِ يَعْقوبَ وانْتَمَوا

لِيَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الواحِدِ بْنِ أبِي حَفْصِ

Ali bin Idris bin Yaqub and they belonged,
