مذ خط آيات عذار له

نقطها من مسك شاماته

When he wrote verses of promises,

And dotted them with the musk of his quintessence,

ولاح في أصداغه وجهه

كأنه البدر بهالاته

His face shone in his cheeks,

Like the full moon with its halo,

وأرسل اللحظ نذيراً وقد

كلم قلبي بمناجاته

Sending looks as harbingers,

Speaking to my heart in intimacy,

لم استطع كفرانها انني

آمنت باللَه وآياته

I could not deny them; I

Believed in God and His verses.
