لا تدعني فرداً إلهي وحيداً

وأغثني يا من به يستغاث

Do not leave me alone, my God, forlorn,

And help me, O You who is implored for help,

وأعني على زمان كأن ال

حظ في ليل همه أضغاث

And aid me against a time that misfortune

In its night of worries pours forth sorrows.

واجعل الصبر جنة لي فأن

الدهر رام سهامه الأحداث

Make patience a garden for me, though

Fate sought with its arrows events to launch.

فأنا العاجز الذي ورث الفقر

والفقر والغنى ميراث

For I am the helpless one who inherited poverty,

And poverty and wealth are an inheritance.

قد توسلت بالشفيع الذي

في البعث للناس من نداه انبعاث

I pleaded with the Intercessor whom

In the Resurrection the people will seek from his bounty a revival.

وعهدت الوفا وما لعهود

عقدت بالوفا لديه انتكاث

I entrusted fidelity though the covenants

I contracted in fidelity with him have no tearing.

فهو ذخرى وما اخيب بدعواه

إذا بعثرت بنا الأجداث

He is my treasure, and I am not disappointed in my supplication to him

When events scatter us.

صلى يا ربنا عليه صلوة

ضعف مكث السما لها امكاث

Bless, O our Lord, bless him, a blessing

For which the heavens' duration would be too brief to contain.
