لقد طال ما بيني وبين عشيرتي

وطال اغترابي عنهم وتباعدي

Long has been my separation from my tribe,

And long has been my estrangement and distance from them.

وإن الليالي أقسمت لا تنام عن

فراق ذوي القربى وقرب الأباعد

Yet I swear the nights do not sleep,

Missing the kinship of relatives and nearness of those far.
