Say to the vainglorious crow, say to him
The words of a man whose honor he ruined and whose feathers he plucked.
O heavy, gloomy mountain that
Has no hope of salvation or redemption.
You were never worthy of my hopes, nor
One I would call on for help in time of distress.
Yet I was like a starving man
Who after three days eats carrion.
