طَلَّقَ اللَّهْوَ فُؤادِي ثَلاثاً

لا ارْتِجاعَ ليَ بَعْدَ الثَّلاثِ

My heart is divorced from frivolity three times

No return for me after the third

وَبَيَاضٌ في سَوَادِ عِذاري

بَدَّلَ التَّشْبيبَ لي بِالمَراثي

And whiteness in the blackness of my cheeks

Has changed my youth into elegy

غَيْرَ أَنِّي لا أُطِيقُ اصْطِباراً

وَأُراني صَابِراً لانْتِكاثي

Yet I cannot endure with patience

And I see myself patient until my demise

بإِنَاثٍ في صِفاتِ ذُكُورٍ

وَذُكُورٍ في صِفَاتِ إناثِ

With feminine qualities in masculine traits

And masculine traits in feminine qualities
