By the winding valleys' mistress
Death gleams in her spinning,
When the sorrows of a land alight
The suns melt from her rubbing.
A lion long gone leads her
If he sees a chance, he takes it
Swords go with his opinions
Death outruns in her thickets
Whites that turn hearts black
When his resolve is aroused, aroused
Birds follow him into enemies
Reaping all the grass from both her sides
He charges when every lion shrinks back
From the precariousness of death, when he sees it
He drives the horses into obscurity
With death gaping in her pits
The faces of demise turned to him
The people pardoned her and lusted for her
