أهْدتْ إليكَ حُمَيّاها بكاسَينِ

شمسٌ تَدبَّرَتْها بالكفِّ والعينِ

She offered you her cheeks in two cups

A sun she contemplated with her palm and her eyes

يسعى بتلك وهذي شادنٌ غَنِجٌ

كأنَّه قمرٌ يسعَى بنجمينِ

With this and that one a slender, delicate branch is busy

As though he were a moon bustling about with two stars

كأنَّه حين يمشي في تأوُّدهِ

قضيبُ بانٍ تَثنَّى بينَ ريحينِ

As though when he walked in his lovingness

He were a supple bough bending between two breezes
