If you spurn me, and you are my provision,

And the place I pour out my complaints, what can I do?

I spend my days conversing and with wishes,

And the night gathers me for anxious thought.

My days are the days of people until, when

Night appears to me, the beds shake me to you.

It is forbidden for my eyes to find rest

As nursing mothers were once forbidden to Moses.
