وَزاهِرَةِ المَرأى مُعَطَّرَةِ الشَذا

قَد اِبتُدِعَت خَلقاً مِنَ المِسكِ وَالنورِ

The fragrant splendid-viewing one,

Was created from musk and light,

رَنَت مِثلَ مَذعورِ الظِباءِ وَإِنَّما

مَشَت مِثلَما يَمشي القَطا غَيرَ مَذعورِ

She bleated like a startled gazelle, though

She walked like a cat, unstartled.

وَقَد طَرَّفَت بيضَ البَنانِ بِأَسوَدٍ

كَما تَستَمِدُّ المِسكَ أَقلامُ كافورِ

She lined her white fingers with black kohl,

As musk is extracted by camphor pens.
