طالَ النَهارُ فَأَينَ اللَيلُ وَالسَهَرُ

إِنّي لَبَدري وَبَدرِ اللَيلِ مُنتَظِرُ

The day has been long, where is the night and wakefulness

I await the moon of the night like the full moon

يا طولَ شَوقي إِلى نَومِ الرَقيبِ وَقَد

خَلا حَبيبِيَ لي حَتّى بَدا السَحَرُ

Oh how long I yearn for the sleep of the wakeful one, while

My beloved was away from me until dawn broke

يا قَلبِ صَبراً عَلى يَومِ الفِراقِ فَقَد

حَقَّ الَّذي مِنهُ حَقّاً كُنتُ أَنتَظِرُ

Oh heart, be patient for the day we depart, for he who

I was truly awaiting has the right

يا شَوقُ خُذ مِن حَياتي وَاِترُكَنَّ زَما

نَ البينِ ما في حَياتي بَودَهُم وَطَرُ

Oh longing, take from my life and leave me a time

Without separation, for in my life it wearies me
