يا وَجهَ شُرَّةَ يا أَخا البَدرِ

أُرضَيتَ بِالإِعراضِ وَالهَجرِ

O face of misfortune, O brother of the full moon

You became content with turning away and estrangement

وَترَكتَني وَحَجَجتَ مُعتَمِراً

طَوبى لِرُكنِ البَيتِ وَالحَجَرِ

And you left me as you went on pilgrimage

Blessed be the corner of the house and the stone
