And a rain-cloud came, laden with the weight of water,
gliding gently above the necks of the winds.
Then all that night it poured in torrents and pelting rain,
in streaming downpours like the mouths of wounds.
As though its sky, when it unveiled itself
among its stars at break of day,
were gardens of violets, drenched in dew,
with daisy blossoms opening among them.
