لُمتَني يا مُسيءُ وَالذَنبُ ذَنبُك

وَيحَ نَفسي حَسيبُكَ اللَهُ رَبُّك

You blamed me, though you're the guilty one

My soul! God suffices as your reckoning

لا تُحاوِل بِحَبسِ كُتبِكَ قَتلي

قَد تَوَلّى الفِراقُ قَتلي فَحَسبُك

Don't try to kill me by keeping your books

Parting itself has killed me, that should suffice you
